IELTS full form

International English Language Testing System

I = International
E = English
L = Language
T = Testing
S = System

About = International English Language Testing System is stand for IELTS, which is an international exam of proficiency in English language.

Exam pattern = In this testing system, there are four sections to clear and get a band score which would be shown on TRF. and the four section or modules are :-
  • Listening
  • Reading
  • Writing
  • Speaking
Duration = 2 hours and 45 minutes
  • Listening: 40 minutes, 30 minutes for which a recording is played centrally and additional 10 minutes for transferring answers onto the OMR answer sheet.
  • Reading: 60 minutes.
  • Writing: 60 minutes.
  • Speaking: 11–15 minutes.
Score = There is no minimum passing score. Candidates get TRF(Test report form) instead of score card, in TRF candidates gets score from "band 1" ("non-user") to "band 9" ("expert user"). Now many countries such as Australian, British, Canadian, Irish, New-Zealand,  South African accepted IELTS.
